Prospective Clients

We would be glad to learn about your legal matter.

Before sharing your information, we invite you to review how our intake and representation process works. When you are ready, you may provide your contact information and a general, nonconfidential description of your matter.

Our goal is to make the process clear from the beginning so you can decide whether our structured, team-based approach feels right for you.

What you can expect

We appreciate the opportunity to learn about your situation. The following overview explains how the process generally works.

1

Share some basic information

You may begin by sharing your contact information, the names of any adverse parties, and a general written narrative. We use this information to perform a conflict check and to determine whether the Firm would be open to providing a consultation for your type of case. At this early stage, there is no need to send documents or confidential information.

2

Receive an immediate response

After you submit the form, our system will immediately review the information and determine whether the Firm is open to providing a virtual consultation regarding your matter. Please remain on the page until your response screen appears. If the Firm is not open to taking the matter, the information you submitted about the matter will not be retained in our system.

3

Schedule if a consultation is offered

If the Firm is open to providing a virtual consultation, the response screen will give you the option to schedule it online. If the Firm is not open to taking the matter, the response screen will let you know.

4

A brief virtual consultation

If you schedule a consultation, it will take place through a virtual conferencing platform that you can access from your computer or phone and will usually last about 15 minutes. During the conference, the Firm will decide and let you know whether it is willing to offer representation, subject to the terms and conditions of a written representation agreement. If representation is offered, you will have 7 days to decide whether to retain the Firm.

5

Review the written agreement

If representation is offered during the conference, the written representation agreement will be sent to you electronically. You will have 7 days to review its terms and conditions and decide whether to retain the Firm. Any required funding or insurance arrangements must also be completed before representation begins.

6

Helping us gather what we need

After the agreement is signed, we will send you a written list of the documents or information that we need to work on the matter. We generally ask that these materials be provided within 7 days. If you need additional time, you are welcome to request an extension.

7

Ongoing support from our team

Our team is available to assist with routine communication, questions, and updates. An attorney becomes directly involved whenever legal analysis, strategy, or attorney-level action is needed.

A few helpful details before you continue

We want you to feel comfortable and informed. These details explain how we work and can help you decide whether our approach fits your needs and expectations.

Your virtual consultation
  • For consistency and convenience, consultations are held through a virtual conferencing platform that you can access from your computer or phone rather than by a traditional telephone call.
  • At your scheduled time, you may join through meeting.ivan.law or use a toll-free dial-in number that will be provided to you by email.
  • The conference usually lasts about 15 minutes.
  • On high-volume days, you may wait briefly. If you are not admitted within 15 minutes, call (602) 718-1781.
  • The conversation is intended to help both you and the Firm decide whether we may be a good fit. Documents are not reviewed and legal advice is not provided during this initial conference.
Understanding fees, insurance, and expenses
  • If you have legal insurance, we will help determine whether coverage applies and whether a copay may be required. In matters involving special circumstances, confirming coverage may take a few days.
  • Please keep in mind that legal insurance generally does not cover court costs, process service, courier charges, or other out-of-pocket expenses.
  • If insurance does not apply or does not cover all services, hourly rates are $200 to $300.
  • Our services are not offered on a flat-fee basis.
  • The Firm generally does not accept contingency matters. The exception is a personal injury matter involving substantial medical expenses and a defendant with adequate liability insurance.
If representation is offered
  • If the Firm offers representation, the agreement will be sent through an electronic signature service.
  • The offer remains available for 7 days. Because reminders are not sent, we encourage you to contact us during that period if you have questions about the agreement.
  • No attorney-client relationship exists unless the agreement is signed, funding is confirmed, and the Firm accepts the representation.
  • After signing, we generally ask that requested evidence be provided within 7 days. If additional time is needed, you may request an extension for the Firm to consider.
  • If we do not receive a response by a stated deadline, we will understand that you may no longer wish to proceed, and the matter may be closed.
How we communicate and keep you informed
  • Our team is available to assist you throughout the representation.
  • Attorneys become directly involved when legal analysis, strategy, or attorney-level action is required.
  • We use email to accept evidence and provide status updates. We do not answer questions by email.
  • If you have questions during the representation, please schedule a call with us so our team can discuss them with you. Scheduled calls allow us to review the matter and provide a helpful response.
  • If you would like to discuss an update, you are welcome to schedule a call at schedule.ivan.law.
What to expect for court appearances
  • For matters involving court hearings, the lead attorney will request the court's permission to appear by video as an ADA accommodation. If the court does not allow a video appearance, of counsel may appear in person. Of counsel is a senior attorney who works with the Firm for in-person appearances only and has worked with the Firm for many years. Depending on the complexity of the matter, an associate attorney may appear in person instead.
  • If you need to appear in person and you and the Firm determine that a Firm representative should appear with you, a Firm associate will be there to assist with exhibits, communication during the hearing, and personal guidance and support throughout the proceeding.
Please consider this policy carefully. Virtual appearances by the lead attorney are an established part of the Firm's representation model, and the Firm is unable to make exceptions to this policy. We want you to understand this approach before deciding whether the Firm is the right fit for you.
Our commitment, without promises about results
  • We are committed to providing diligent and professional representation. At the same time, no attorney can guarantee a particular result.
  • Outcomes depend on many factors outside the Firm's control, including opposing parties and court decisions.

Share your information for consultation consideration

We appreciate your taking a few moments to complete each field. Accurate contact information and a detailed but nonconfidential narrative will help us conduct the initial review.

Enter at least a first name and last name.
Use at least 10 digits, including the area code. International numbers may include a country code.
An adverse party is any person, business, organization, or government agency whose interests are opposed to yours in the matter. This may include someone you have a dispute with, someone who may make a claim against you, or someone against whom you may make a claim. Please list all known names. If there are no adverse parties, enter N/A.
Please select the funding source you expect to use if the Firm offers representation.
A brief description is enough. Please identify the people or businesses involved, explain what happened, and mention any upcoming deadline. Please do not upload or paste documents at this stage.
What you will see after submittingAfter you submit your request, our system will immediately review the information you provided. Please remain on this page until one of two response screens appears. You will see either a screen confirming that the Firm is open to providing a virtual consultation regarding your case, with an option to schedule the consultation, or a screen explaining that the Firm is not open to taking the matter. If the Firm is not open to taking the matter, the information you submitted about the matter will not be retained in our system. Please do not close or leave this page until one of these two screens appears.

Submitting authorizes the Firm to review this information solely to decide whether it is open to a consultation.
